ACTION ALERT: Act today to let your Senator know that cancer funding
matters to you!
Your U.S. Senator is one of the 15 who have not yet announced how they
will vote on a bill which could provide the National Cancer Institute
(NCI) with a $65 million increase for the current fiscal year. Five years
of flat funding have significantly hindered research progress and have
forced the NCI to make difficult funding decisions and painful cuts to
ongoing research projects. These additional funds are much needed to
ensure that critical pancreatic cancer research can move forward!
The funding is included in the FY 2008 Supplemental Appropriations package, which will be considered by the Senate Appropriations Committee this
Thursday afternoon, May 15th and on the Senate floor the week of May 19th.
You are receiving this alert because at least one of your Senators has
not yet committed to supporting the bill in either the Committee vote or
on the Senate floor. The list of Senators that we are trying to reach
