In 2005, the Diaz family
organized the Mary Diaz-Bill Copeland, Jr. Memorial
Tennis Tournament to benefit the Pancreatic Cancer
Action Network in response to the loss of a beloved
daughter, sister, aunt, life partner and friend. It
is now held each year in memory of Mary Frances Diaz
and Bill Copeland, Jr., both active community members
who died of pancreatic cancer. The tournament has
become a way for family and friends to celebrate their
lives while simultaneously raising money for an organization
on the front lines of fighting this disease.

Online registration
is free, but there is a $25 registration fee to
be paid on the event day. Players of all levels
who enjoy the game are invited for a weekend of good
tennis for a good cause. The event will include junior
and adult doubles play (mixed and single sex) in a
number of divisions. At the event, a delicious lunch
is served on Saturday along with soft drinks and water.
There will also be a party for all participants Saturday
night.

be working on increasing awareness of pancreatic cancer
and the resources available to inform patients/caregivers,
as well as sharing our thoughts and experiences with
it.

thanks to our new hosts of our monthly meetings, the
Wellness Community, a nonprofit international organization
that provides free support groups and other services
for cancer patients and their families. TWC
is located at the Northeast corner of Tuttle Crossing
Blvd. and Frantz Road, in the Scioto Corporate Center,

For
the third year, the Columbus Affiliate has secured
space at Worthington's community sale called Treasures
on the Green. We are seeking gently used items to
sell to raise money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action
Network to support research, patient support &
education awareness. Donation receipts are available.
Items we are seeking include:
- Household & decorative items
- Books, CDs, LPs, DVDs and videotapes
- Toys, board & computer games
- Small working appliances
- Purses, jewelry, small accessories
- Plastic grocery bags for sold items
Unfortunately we are unable to accept clothing or
large furniture/appliance donations due to space limitations.
We are also seeking volunteers for shifts at the sale.

the Columbus Affiliate for a walk/run for pancreatic
cancer!
Registration costs $10 in advance or $15 at the event.
T-shirts will be given to the first 100 online registrants.
The event includes free kid activities such as face
painters, balloon artists and an ice cream vendor.
The mill will sell beverages and food donating a portion
of proceeds to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
